High – sliding drive gear dogs directly to transmission drive gear. [1:1]
Low – sliding drive gear meshes with idler gear  [1: 2.25] (Low position shown above)
1,3: slider moves gear to right to mesh with 1,3 countershaft gear  [ 1st =1:3.68, 3rd =1:1.63 ]
2,5: slider moves gear to right to mesh with 2,5 countershaft gear  [ 2nd =1:2.25, 5th =1:1 ]
4,6: sliding gear on countershaft moves right to mesh with 4,6 sliding shaft gear [ 4th =1:1.27, 6th =1:0.56 ]
R:   1-3-R sliding gear moves left to mesh directly with ring gear of differential (R speed is 19/20 of 2nd gear fwd speed )
(countershaft, differential, final drive and brake gears move opposite to noted direction when in reverse)
Note: In 5th gear the transmission transfers power directly without any over or under drive. (Drive reduction factor: ~ 1:38)
All rotations as viewed from pulley side in fwd gears.
