Roberts' John Deere Page
Pictures of my John Deere B (1950) now that's its running.
First drive out produces immediate interest in the neighborhood.
These machines are irresistable!
The biker mistook the "putt putt" for a poorly running engine.
I explained the "sound of the Deere" to him more perfectly.
Although, since I haven't mounted the muffler it is a bit louder than normal.
Back in the driveway after first "excursion" test drive. In 1st gear
-- Mr. Toad's wild ride not.
Carol tries it on for size. See -- she IS smiling!
All the pics on this page show tractor before beginning restoration.
I wanted to get it running first, before starting to tear it all apart.
Now some closeups.
The newly installed rebuilt DLTX67 carb from Treadwell's. Also note my
throttle ctrl rod.
The newly installed electronic distributor from Denny's carb shop.
I think the yellow Accel plug wires will go well with the JD color scheme.
Grill work is the major body sheet metal "fixing" required.
Flywheel and platform view. I'll route the wires correctly later.
The rear view showing battery box I got from Hazel Green Salvage.
Also note the dash amp and oil gauges. They work. Can't read them, but
they work.
The brakes obviously aren't working. Just using pulley brake for now.
Will add more pics once Carol's school kids get back from spring break
next week.
